I just got my new 955, set it up and charged to 100%. I have not been doing any activities, it's just sitting on my desk. Still, within an hour of being fully charged it is already down to 93%. At this rate it won't survive overnight. Any ideas?

All,
We believe that we have a fix for this report that will be rolling out with the next software release for this device. While I do not have a timetable for this release, I will be updating this thread…
All,
We have released a fix in the latest production (non-beta) software release that should resolve the report for most users experiencing these symptoms. The software release should continue rolling…
Try restarting the device. That seems to fix some of the battery draining issues.
The beta is released yesterday, sign up for the program and install it... one of the main battery issues seems to be fixed in there.
You might want to wait a week and re-evaluate. The first day I had mine, I probably drained it 50%! My overall impression is it drains significantly faster than my 935 -- however, I look at the glances much more, read the morning reports, do pulse ox every night, have animated seconds on the watch face, use multiband during runs, etc. -- so kind of makes sense.
has it tried to update the firmware and download al the maps? mine did right out of the box and that took a fair bit of time and battery. my battery consumption seemed elevated the first few days. as suggested by others, some of it was due to me fiddling around a lot, but also i did have other issues which were cured by a restarting of the device. (holding power button down for about 30 seconds (ignoring Assistance message, etc.) and then powering it back up)
Set a different watch face, ensured that it was not searching for my Stryd pod and HR strap, and restarted. Seems to be behaving much better :-)
Hello, i tried different watch faces and different settings. Also remove the HR strap. But anyhow.... 6 days battery life maximum. Is this what you mean with behaving much better? I switched from 945 LTE to 955 but from battery side im very unhappy.

glad to hear this. i myself, after having pretty stellar battery, encountered my first weird glitch last night. dropped from 34% to 26% overnight with a minimal watch face (goes to just showing Hours and Minutes) that typically uses 1% overnight. it has stabilized this morning.
Experiencing since 1 day the same behaviour, since coming back from a hiking tour.
Battery drain within 6h --> nearly 20%, even with a restart and closing all sensors as suggested in other forums
Eagerly awaiting the proposed update...........hope i will not take to long.
Loosing Battery over night. shut down in the afternoon yesterday, no battery. full loaded until 09.00 p.m.
Picture is the result after the night at 06.55. a.m.
Recommendations --> Send Forerunner 955 back ? Going to my old Fenix 6 which never ever had such issues ?
Question: Is there any rough ETA for the Update ? (weeks, months, years ?)
