Training Readiness

Displays on 955 but not in Garmin Connect.  Checked edit tabs at bottom multiple times. Training Readiness is supposed to be top tab. Tried moving it lower made no difference... Any ideas

  • Mine was hit and miss in the Garmin Connect app. Some of the time it was there, and other times, it would just vanish. It's now showing all the time, so not sure if they have an intermittent bug with it.

  • Hello, there will be two reasons for that training readiness card not showing in the app anymore and here is an article that goes into more detail: My Training Readiness Card Is Not Displaying in the Garmin Connect App.

  • When it is displayed in GCM there can be a mismatch with the watch. For example:

    My watch currently says 27

Open GCM, it initially reads 17 in My Day, but then refreshes to 27

But, if I then open the My Day widget in GCM, it says 17 (refreshing does not update this)

  • I have had the same issue and I found on my iPhone if I close and swipe GC app up and off and the reopen it it shows. Definitely a bug, also on GC it shows the morning value not the value after my workout that shows up on my watch.

Not a huge issue that can’t be fixed with the next iOS update.

  • thanks for the Reply :) but this makes no sense ? Why hiding it when there is a Workout recorded ?

    • You have recorded an activity with an aerobic training effect of 2.0 or higher.  Once an activity has been uploaded to Garmin Connect with an aerobic training effect of 2.0 or higher the card on the My Day screen will no longer display.  You can see the most up to date training readiness on your watch or you can view training readiness trends in the app by doing the following:
      1. From the Garmin Connect app access the menu.
        • Android: Select   (top left)
        • iOS: Select More (bottom right)

      2. Select Performance Stats.
      3. Select Training Readiness
  • Why hiding it when there is a Workout recorded ?

Most of us do just one trainings per day so they are not interested in that anymore after one training. I think that's the idea behind it. I feel it's kind of understandable and makes sense. It's not relevant information anymore for most people after one daily training.

Not arguing against or for hiding though, just trying to explain how it makes sense to me.

  • sure but this watch is geared towards athletes - and athletes train often more than one times per day :)

  • Well, I would guess most 955 owners won't consider themself as athletes, but like I said, I'm not saying how it should be like it is, but just I can see what might been the reason behind for hiding it.

  • Most Triathletes (recreational or competitive), myself included, do multiple workouts a day. My training plan has 2 works a day, 5 out of  days a week.

  • What means "most" and what is your data on that? I just think that's a bubble you are in. Most triathletes I know don't do that... and this kind of is outside the point. I think most of the 955 users don't do multiple workouts per day and that's the reason I think Garmin has made it behave like it does.

To me it's all the same, does it show always or not. But if you want to argue that most 955 users do two trainings per day, give me some data to proof me wrong or let's just disagree on that.
