Problems with pool count with the new Forerunner 955

Hi,

After using the 935 for many years I have purchased the new 955.

I can't put my finger on the issue yet but it sometimes freezes during the swim. The timer counter keeps going but the pool count just does not increase.

I had one day - after finishing "rest" the timer was increasing but the distance was remaining on '--' although I had swum more than 300 meters.

On another day it stopped the count at 125 meters and "picked up" on the missing pools around 325 meters where it suddenly updated.

This is obviously a software bug.

Are the guys at Gramin aware of that?

Thanks

  • Today a minor (?) error from mine FR955

I have set alarm every 10 pools (25m)

Strange alarm at 93th (?!), then later I ended my swim.

When pressing stop I've read "102 pools, 2475m". Impossible!

Saved activity, in GC android app, it was 2475m, 99 pools, impossible again because started and finishid from the same pool side.

Looking to graps in GC, it seems it counted 1 pool more than real, so I've adjusted the activity to "98 pools, 2450m"

In the image the 2 circles are actually 1 pool, not 2

  • Usually when it splits a length it is because you accelerated or decelerated in the middle of the length (e.g., often due to another swimmer). Even scratching an itch could trigger a new length as it just used accelerometers.

  • Nothing strange happened, I was swimming alone in the lane as before (12+19=31s).By the way, it's not a great bug if it happens once...

  • All,

We have released a fix in the latest (non-beta) software release that should resolve the report for most users experiencing these symptoms.  The software release should continue rolling out to all users in the coming days.  If you are still experiencing symptoms like the original report here, please start a new thread in the main forum.
