PSA: Be sure to check HR settings for device on Connect IQ app...

it seems that the watch defaults to trying to autodetect your max heart rate which makes a mess of ones heart rate zones. i know my max is 194 (from a hike last year) and my previous watches had set it to 192, but for some reason, the 955 Solar thinks my max is 180. i reset the max the other day but didn't realize there was an autodetect setting to disable.

anyway, i hope this is helpful for others.

  • Thanks for this. Just noticed after checking that it's automatically lowered mine down from 192 to 186 tonight after my race (also first run in the 955 after getting it today). Autodetect is now turned off!

  • Hello, I have same / similar problem. When I change zones via Android app, its incorrect. When I change general HR zones via watch, its ok. Running zones via watch I have same 50-60-70-80-90% - so I dont know if this is also issue. Bike zones, I tried change slightly lower via watch, but after enter value nothing changed. I think, this is firmware issue. Zones for bike are still 50-60-70-80-90%.
