2nd run with 955 Solar and after being amazing with Multiband+All Satellites, i thought i'd give the vanilla GPS only mode a try on a well known route.
on this route, there is a stoplight where i typically hit stop/pause and then resume after 30-60 sec. what happened this time is i saw no reported pace for a long time, and then, that was followed by much slower than expected instantaneous pace (11:30 vs 9:20)...after about what should have been 0.8mi, i hit pause again, set the GPS to All Satellites (the middle setting) and then resumed running. in a few seconds, it said GPS ready and everything was find thereafter.
anyone encounter this? i don't want to do this sort of testing during a run, but may try that doing a walk in the next few days. not cool. i looked at the map on Strava and Garmin connect afterward and it missed the route for almost a mile of the run...very bad.
in the end, the distance was 0.3miles off, but not impressed at all and hopefully Garmin will have an answer and quick firmware fix. wouldn't expect this problem after using a Garmin running watch for the past 12 years.
