Does Daily suggested Workout, account for a race event I made in my calendar?

Hi,

I'm wondering. As the feature "Race Calendar" is not available on my Forerunner 945, does my Watch even account for it in the DSW?

Or to phrase it different:

Is the "training for a race event" necessary for daily suggested workouts if I want it to get me ready for a specific race event. I did add the event to the calendar and I'm using a Forerunner 945.

Thank you in advance

  • Hello,

On devices compatible with the Race Event feature the primary race event will impact what is provided as a DSW. Supporting events will have a minor impact on suggested workouts and rest days. While events with no priority will have no impact on your DSW. Top FAQs About Daily Suggested Workouts

For information on the Primary Race glance and setting your race priority, see What Is the Primary Race Glance on My Garmin Watch?.

Since your watch does not have the Primary Race glance/widget, your DSW's will not go off of your race you have set in your Garmin Connect application (your device is not compatible). The DSW's you are being given are coming from your fitness level on how you are performing them, not to help train for a race. If you do want to train for a race, I recommend using a Garmin Coach Plan. Let me know if you have any questions! Happy to help.

  • Thank you very much for your answer. I know understand that the feature doesn’t help me train for a race as my Forerunner 945 is missing the Primary race widget.

I’ll go with the Coach then.

is there any plan to bring the widget to my device? ‘ cause the LTE edition has it.

    thank you for you help.

  • Hello, The Forerunner 945 is discontinued fully. The Forerunner 945LTE has fixes that pertain to concerns that are global with the subscription so we have to make updates when it is completely necessary for subscription purposes and other bug fixes. The Forerunner 945 has been end of software for awhile so nothing will be added on. I do apologize!
