After Zone 2 run, VO2Max suddenly dropped by 2, status unproductive despite a solid running routine (same with Fenix 8?)

Hi folks - my first question here.

I have an old FR935 and have been working through a Garmin coach program. My status is almost always Productive and my VO2Max is at 50 (I'm a 57 yo male).

Today I did a 30 min Zone 2 run with ease and it has dropped my VO2Max to 48 and my status is now Unproductive. According to the algorithm, my performance condition went from 0 to -8, which is absurd - was a very easy run. Note I was using a HRM Pro and heart rate looked as expected.

So, I wonder if this is this a Garmin quirk, a quirk of my 935 (from 2017) and is this likely to remain an issue if I buy a Fenix 8?

As said, the run was very easy - at 6:30 pace for me (very slow) with good cadence, having only yesterday successfully done a mile at 4:30 pace (mins/km) with ease. Given what we now know about the value of Zone 2 training, this appears to be a contra-indicator and now I'm concerned about spending so much on a Fenix 8 if it's a Garmin algorithm issue.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I can't find anythng on the Fenix 8.

Cheers and thanks,
Dave
