I have a Forerunner 945, natch. About 2 years ago, if I went up and down the stairs, it stopped accurately counting. When I looked at the altitude widget at the time it was bouncing all over the place. Now when I look at my altitude widget it gets 0 readings. If I do a run or walk, it uses the GPS to get altitude information. But otherwise stair climbs do not count. Is there anything I might do to try and fix this? Otherwise is this something that can be repaired? (And where? there doesn't seem to be any repair support on the main Garmin page)
