Since there is not a dedicated, Forerunner 920xt forum, I'm dropping this here. Apologies moderators. Please move this post to the appropriate location.
So I just factory reset my 920xt, ultimately because I need it to recognize a new heart rate "run" garmin strap. It was not picking up the strap automatically as it has done in the past with different straps. This will be the first time I'm connecting this strap to the watch. On the 920xt watch itself, the lower left three dots button, should get me into settings but when I press the button, this happens: Settings (quick press) > Press ENTER to Unlock > and it takes me directly right into the workouts menu (Run, Indoor Run, Bike, Indoor Bike, Pool Swim, Open Water, Triathlon)
If I long-press the Settings button it takes me to Options, but the only option is to Connect to Wi-fi where it says To connect to Wi-fi, use Garmin Express. So I connect the watch to the cradle, Garmin Express opens up, and I get a Sync Via Wi-fi pop-up. Click setup wifi (I have to do this everytime I connect the device). Sign in with my credentials, find networks, log into network...
this is where I'm stuck... I can't find an option to even access, let alone change the Settings within the watch itself and Connect doesn't have anything that lets me do what I need to ... i'm struggling here. I need to get my settings back!
