Training Status not aligning with Edge 1040

Hi

I own a FR945 and just bought an Edge1040 to replace my older Edge 1030.

Previously with Physio True Up enabled on both FR and Edge the training status was consistent on both devices, but now, the Training Status it is no longer aligned.

I have tried to turn the Physio True Up on and off from the FR but I can't find the setting on the Edge 1040.

Any suggestion?

Thanks
Mic

  • Same here. I don't currently use the 945 for activities and it doesn't appear to sync the Training Status, load on the watch is 0. On the Edge, the load is correct.

What makes it worse is that sometimes (on rest days?) the watch still overwrites the Training Status in Connect, so the app tells me I'm detraining with a load of 0.

Apparently, Garmin introduced "Unified Training Status" with the 955 and Edge x40 devices, and it seems to be a bit buggy when used with the older TrueUp devices.

From What is Unified Training Status?:

"The Device Compatible with Unified Training Status with act as the PTD [Primary Training Device] by default. The device without Unified Training Status will still generate its own Training Status that will be visible on the device itself, but the Training Status on the PTD and in Garmin Connect will be the true Training Status"

I'd still expect the watch to download the cycling activities and calculate a Training Status, even if it's a slightly different number from what the Edge shows. I'd also expect it to not overwrite the Training Status in Connect if it is not the Primary Training Device.
