Software Version 17.26

Please can forerunner 945 device owners also get the new software version 17.26? That would be so great. Many greetings Anja

    Each model (or group of models) got its own software and can't be loaded on another device. 945 and 245 got the same software.

    Yes, it would be great if the 945 got all those new functions, but it is unlikely we will see any new functions for this model.

    Are you working for Garmin? Where are your information from?

    Sure, I know, every model gets its own software.

    Why is it unlikely? 

    The 945 lte although gets the new firmware version. Dos the 945 and 945 lte not belong in the same model group?

    I'm not working for Garmin. My information comes from observations how Garmin acts and the collected knowledge of this forum during all my years here. Garmin will not comment about this so it is just guesses, but if you look how the software updates have been added and how the beta program is used you will likely come to about the same conclusions.

    Garmin usually adds new functions to watches for two generations. After that they just do bug fixes and security updates. That means that 945 LTE and 955/965 will continue to get updates. 945 LTE is not in the same group as 945 even though they share the name 945.

    945 LTE now gets fewer updates and got no active beta now which probably indicates it is being sunset in favor for a new unreleased model.

    The last time 945 got an added function was in May 2022. After that it has only been bug fixes. There is no active beta coming.

    I got my hope up when Fenix 6 got new functions in verson 23 in August 2022 with HRV, acute load etc. but the same update never came to my 945. Fenix 6 models still get some minor functions added. It is about the same age as the 945 (year 2019).
