Do any Garmin watches detect heart rate right for xc skiing? Has this issue been fixed on any watches?

I currently have the 945  and use the hrm to get heart rate. It is a known issue that the 945 does not detect heart rate when xc skiing. Has this issue been fixed on any watch?
