Altimeter: worse after FW 13.00

Hello,

FW 13.00 was supposed to fix the altimeter issue that appeared with version 12.00.

Well with this new FW, the situation is now even worse.

Calibrating the altimeter from DEM (or GPS) is still correct but the widget still not locks the value and shows inconsistent data.

I did a quite flat run at sea level;the activity showed 16,000+ meters of elevation and 500+ meters of elevation gain.

It also looks like auto calibration after GPS acquisition does not wok.

  • Mine has improved with FW13, it's still not perfect and still shows some changes in altitude but much better than before, this means that all problems related to the altimeter are SW-related and therefore it is useless for Garmin to offer constant substitutions of refurbished watches, as I have always maintained.

  • I may have a clue why the calibration does not work.
As I mentioned in my previous post, the altimeter widget shows 16,000m of elevation whereas it should be near 0.
The calibration from GPS/DEM gets the right value but since it is far away from the current elevation showed on the widget, it is not updated.
Actually that is the meesage that appears when I tried a manual calibration: the input data is out of range.
