Forerunner 945 firmware 12.51

So I was prompted to upgrade my firmware to 12.51 on the 945.

Garmin hasn’t posted what this update fixes or new features.

Anyone else notice this firmware update and any ideas what was fixed or added?

  • Forerunner 945
    Ver. 12.51 Beta - 04/05/2023
    Updates to bike camera support.
Improvements to altitude calibration error handling (Addresses reports of sudden elevation changes during an activity).
    Other bug fixes and improvements
  • Is this 945 FW update limited to certain regions?  My watch has 11.60 and neither Garmin express nor connect prompts me to upgrade. I am APAC.

  • That is a 'Beta' firmware as shown in red above, Beta is a test/pre-release version they use for testing on actual users.  This is an optional 'join beta testing group' type feature.

There is a sticky note at top of forum for recent firmware releases.  Which is at 12.1 for nearly a month, so you are using an old FW.   12.1 was a fix to 12.0 that was released a few days or weeks(?) before 12.1
