Downloadable Watch Faces

Hello,

I just got a Forerunner 945. I am not a power athlete or anything. I just like to have accurate stats and love Garmins for that. I primarily ride a recumbent trike and swim and walk. I have been looking at all the various downloadable watch faces and ones tailored for cycling and it is fairly mind boggling. Are there any ones in particular that might be the most suitable to cycling with a recumbent trike? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • The watchfaces are not used during activities. During an activity you see data screens with data fields. Just create your own custom data screen with the values you like to see during your rides.

  • Often I find it good to have a screen that has info for that lap or a mix of live and lap data.  Often will do a screen with maybe 6+ items,

    Total Distance

    HR... // Lap HR

    Speed // Lap Speed

    TIMER   or Lap Time

    Cadence // Lap Cadence

maybe and entire screen of summary info like , Training Load, Aerobic and Anaerobic Training EFfect.... Avg HR.... Avg Speed ... .Total Elevation Gain.  etc.

  • I start by removing all data screens for an activity. I don't want any extra screens that I don't ever use.

My first screen that I use for all outdoor activities are custom 6 fields:

    Time of day
    Timer, Distance
    Pace, Avg Pace
    HR gauge

My second screen is the map. I always navigate so it is very important to have that easily available.

Sometimes I add a screen after the map with some more specialized data I like to use for the activity type.

My last screen is also a custom screen with 6 fields (I put this last so I just have to press up to times from the map to see it)

    Time of day
    Timer, Distance
    ETA, ETE
    Distance remaining
