No more GPS

Hello, for a few days now, the GPS has been having issues.

Two days ago, it fixed after about 15 minutes of running, but today, there was no fix at all. What's going on? Thank you.

I tried GPS alone, GPS + GALILEO, and GPS + GLONASS, but nothing changes.

    Have you restarted the watch lately? Long hold the "Light" button until the watch shuts down... wait a bit and turn it back on. That usually helps...

    This is an old problem widely documented with the garmin forerunner 945 due to a repetitive failure in the Sony GPS sensor, this behavior begins to occur more and more frequently and in the end, regardless of the age of your watch, it stops working.

    In my particular case it started about 6 months ago, when I was still with version 6.00 of the GPS software and with a beta version of the watch firmware, I think it was 12.53, after several reports to garmin support, they simply told me that it would be fixed when version 13.00 of the firmware came out, this actually happened and the GPS worked correctly again, but only for two months. I tried all the official documented methods to fix it, but none worked.

    After contacting garmin support again and sending them the files from my watch, as well as photos and videos of the GPS software and watch versions, along with the error in satellite acquisition, both in normal operation and in the service menus (hidden), the answer was that the watch was already very old (I bought it three years ago barely) and that it had reached "the end of its useful life", that if I wanted I could send it to them and they would give me a “refurbished” one for a lower value, because actually my watch is out of warranty.

    The funny thing is that I have other multisport watches from other brands with years (8 - 10+) of hard use and their GPS signal quality is still impeccable, that is why I decided to abandon this product and switch to another brand.
