  • It is hard to say why the distance was that much shorter. Could you post a link to the activity? Make sure you set the activity as public.

For the elevation issues see what happens if you enable elevation correction. View the activity and change the setting below the image of your watch. Elevation can be incorrect due to weather changes. You will usually always get more ascent than you can calculate from maps since all ups and downs count for the watch. Also check the altitude graph. Sometimes you can get really big jumps in altitude at the beginning of an activity or if you got auto pause enabled you could see the same when the activity starts and stops. If you got auto pause enabled then turn it off just in case.

Your heart rate has been zero for a long time. Is the wrist heart rate enabled? If you look at the back of the watch do you see any green lights? It should be flashing while not in an activity and steady light in an activity (unless you use a chest strap and then it should be turned off during an activity).
If you are using a chest strap then switch the battery. Do a test run without the chest strap.

  • For the distance i think it is the GPS which is not going well, before the competition it took very long when i switch on the 945 to find the satellites

it is not normal then after 7.4 km i lost the gps; the wheather was quite normal

HOW IT IS POSSIBLE TO CONTROL THE GPS ? AND WHAT DOING IF IT IS DOWN ?

For the rest altitude i changed the 'elev correction" like you told me

For the heart rate i do not see the green lights behind, i think it is just other settings, i changed them 2 month ago

Next week end i tell you how my 945 react

  • You can't really do anything if the GPS position is lost. Well, you can stop and wait for the watch to find it again. Forerunner 945 don't need the GPS to calculate the distance. It will use the accelerometer to calculate the distance. It might not be as accurate as with GPS but it usually works pretty good.

Best is to do a GPS soak before you press start to have optimal conditions. It means you select the activity and let the watch search for GPS. When it goes green and tells you GPS is found you don't press start. Instead you wait for another 2 minutes.
