Need Assistance with Garmin Forerunner 945 Navigation

For cycling and running, I use a Garmin forerunner 945. With the help of older watches I've had, I've slowly begun to master the new functionalities it has. I want to utilise the watch to find my way around on new runs and rides. The map's lack of other street references makes it somewhat worthless to me because it is just a line. I was able to turn after seeing YouTube videos that resembled Google Maps in design. I'm at a loss as to how to be more specific. Please give me instructions on how to achieve this.

  • The 945 got color maps as default where you see streets, trails, buildings and other features.

Have you connected your watch to Garmin Express on a computer to update the maps?
