Correct Pool Swim

Is there any way to calibrate the pool swim or correct the distance BEFORE saving a workout? Sometimes it only overcounts a couple of laps, but in the last 3-4 weeks, it has been counting 10-20% more than I actually did. It always over counts rather than undercounts. Looking back at the splits that it automatically takes, it will have ridiculous times, like a 14s 50m free (7 seconds under the world record). I have a consistent stroke and I'm not switching strokes in the middle of the pool.

I know I can save it and then go into Garmin Connect and change it, but when saved, it automatically uploads to training peaks, strava, etc. Any suggestions on how to fix it would be appreciated.

Breathing on both sides of your body while you are swimming creates smooth, even strokes. You get a better balance in the water by alternating your breathing and you develop uniform muscles. Breathing to both sides of your body becomes even more important when you move from the pool to the open water.
