Outdoor cycling workout data fields.

Is there any way to get these fields on a garmin 945?  Thanks.

Time to Go

  • Nested under the "Workouts" category.
  • Shows how much longer the current step of a workout is.

Target Power

  • Nested under the "Indoor Training" category.
  • Shows your target power for the current interval.

3 Second Power

  • Nested under the "Power" category.
  • Shows smoothed instantaneous power.

Heart Rate

  • Nested under the "Heart Rate" category.
  • Displays current heart rate.

Cadence

  • Nested under the "Cadence" category.
  • Displays current cadence.
  • Time to Go and Target Power will show up if you do a custom workout or a suggested one.

For the others, you can add just customizing the data fields.

If you have a power meter connected, the watch will automatically add a new page that shows a 3" Power in a gauge (with your power zones) and cadence in a single view.

A gauge page with the current value of HR is one of the default pages too.

  • Thank you.  Any chance you think I could use the indoor trainer ride with a power meter instead of a trainer and get the fields?

  • I'm not sure what you need.

You first asked about outdoor: in this scenario, any power meter works (pedals, crank arm, etc.)

Now, it looks like you want indoor: power data is power data.
If it is from an indoor trainer with a built-in power meter or an actual power meter installed on your bike, you'll be able to get the data fields too.

You must have power input data to have power data fields.

You can add the fields in customized data screens, but it will show nothing if you don't have any power meter.

You should check the owner's manual.
The information about how to add and change/customize data fields is well described there.

Generally speaking, the difference between the indoor and outdoor activity in the 945 is that indoor cycling doesn't connect to GPS.
