Garmin... Jump rope Please!

My regular reminder/ask for Garmin to add Jumping Rope to activities.  it's just completely bonkers that my 945 has freakin' Pickleball and "Breathwork" but doesn't have jumping rope.

Is it really hard to program an accelerometer to register skips?

  • I downloaded a VPN app from the Google Playstore. Changing to a specific country like Japan seems to be paid only feature, but most VPN apps seems to offer a free trial which I used.

Once you set your country to Japan, then simple search for the jump rope app on the Garmin Connect store.

  • How's the app for those who have installed it?

  • It is strange some of the stuff they have, some of which isn't even fitness related really.  I would assume since it is one of the drop downs in a 'gym and fitness equipment' / 'Strength' activity... that is what they assume people should use.  Or most people would just record it as a 'Cardio' activity.  who knows , seems like the only people I know that do it are jumping rope are as part of a larger circuit/HIIT workout, or really... don't do it.    Not just hanging out jumping rope for 20minutes... or if they did, time and HR data would be sufficient.

So in that case they are running 100yards, lap press, doing 30pushups, lap press, jumping rope for 2minutes fast, lap press, 20 lunges, ...etc.  Then repeat... then adjust the 'strength' workout intervals to the various types if it doesn't auto recognize them.
