Issue with new Garmin Forerunner 945 Software Update

I have noticed an issue with the latest Forerunner 945 Software Update. While running my watch sends a live update to my Bluetooth connected phone after each Lap - km. The notification is announced as an audio message that includes the Lap just completed, the time for that lap and my Heart Rate in bpm. The update occurred late last week, but this morning when I ran, the notification had changed. Instead of the HR in bpm, I got it as a percentage (presumably of my max HR, althoughthat is just an assumption). The new notification makes no sense. Why has this happened and how do I change it back? I called Garmin Australia this morning and they want me to provide a video of the issue. How does one create a video of a very short audio message on my phone? Especially while I'm running?

  • Check the settings for the audio prompts.

In the app click your watch at the top to go to settings. Then click Activity Options->Audio Prompts and the Heart Rate Alerts. Change it to Heart Rate. If Heart Rate already is selected then select something else and then go back to the main device menu to save and sync the new setting. Then change to Heart Rate, save and sync.

  • Thanks e7andy, I made the changes you recommended and will try them today. Garmin Australia had no clue about what to do.
