Hi all.
Looking to upgrade my Garmin 920xt to a 945. Are there still issues with the battery life? What are you getting from yours at the moment?
Thanks

Wow - I wish I could replicate that kind of performance. It was 1.5 years ago when I did my 100K for 16 hours and it was bone dry right afterwards.
No OHR
No Bluetooth connection
ANT+ connected to HRM and Stryd
Navigation ON, but rarely on the map screen
Half of the run was at night so it's possible the backlight coming on at every mile lap split might have been a factor.
Yep, I usually turn off turning light on events while navigating, as it may drain battery a lot especially on windy tracks :)
The 16th hours I was mentioning was orienteering, so I was forbidden to us my watch at all - it was just recording my track.
The battery life, or lack thereof, used to really bug me. It drove me nuts that I couldn't figure out what setting/setup would get me the crazy 7-10 days between charging that other forum posters claimed (I get 3 days, maybe sometimes 4 if it's a light stretch). I've long since stopped caring, I just assume that mine is a bit of a lemon in the battery department...it will last long enough for any kind of ultra-long events I might consider and that's good enough. It's not like charging is a major hassle.
Something is wrong with your device. I have wifi, pulse ox at night , train at least 1h a day with ant+ straps + GPS & Gallileo, bike rides are around 2h at least ant+ and assioma pedals + tempe and got around 7-8 days of battery life
Had mine since first release. A few week ago I had terrible battery life. Someone pointed out completely restarting the device by holding the top-left button for 15 seconds could help. This completely fixed the issue for me. Likely some process was hanging that drained the battery. So it's a worth a try.
When you hold the top-left button, you'll get the injury alert notification first. Just keep holding the button for a few more seconds until the device powers off. Then just turn it back on again (press top-left button again).
I have 6 days battery life with ox night only, wifi on, notifications on, using regularly to log water, weather forecast etc... 1h a day with GPS/gallileo and 2-3h ride on weekends so around 0.7%/hour in average
Watchface can drain a lot, i have a stock one with weather temp, time, sun down and date.
