Does the 945 continue recording an activity if you plug it in to charge it while recording an activity?

Does the 945 continue recording an activity if you plug it in to charge it while recording an activity?

I am thinking a new edge device will not come out this year. I already have a 945 that will work with all my garmin devices while cycling. I am thinking of getting a garmin etrex for mapping my bikepacking and bikepack racing.

Only issue is that I will need to charge the device while in use. I have a cache battery that I will be bringing with me to charge multiple devices already. Can I charge the 945 while I am riding and will it keep recording everything? I do not want to lose the data and track!

Yes it works. I always charge during my ultra runs.

No it does not.

I'm happy to say that I've been corrected and the watch will charge during an activity but only to a power bank or power supply.

crappy. Thanks. Off to the drawing board again. I may just say to hell with it and not buy anything more garmin. I have all I need and can just run my android phone. Only issue is my rtl510 wont work with my phone. Utter *** on that one as they could support it with ant+. My pedals wont work with my edge 130 plus. Its always something.

Anyway, given the massive run time of the 945 (36 hours), you could easily charge it overnight when not recording anyway.

No need. Start any activity, then plug in the charging cable.

Not so great of battery life when you have pedals, varia radar and a inreach attached to it. But I was also using it for mapping. If mapping is not being used it would probably last much longer.
