Update (4/2/2022): My watch has now returned to normal and it syncs as normal. I still don't know what caused it or what fixed it. It was glitched for 2.5 days and the data recorded during that time has been deleted. I suspect the cause was the weekly health email which I have now turned off.
On the first of February, I noticed that my watch looked like it had reset all of my Health Stats, Training Stats, and Activities. This is annoying but it isn't the main problem, it no longer syncs any of my health stats but somehow it still syncs my activities. I've tried syncing it with the charger but it makes no difference. everything else is working as normal.
A few things that was happening around the time and could have had some effect on this glitch:
- I went to the ocean 2 days before and got some salt water on it, I rinsed it off afterwards.
- I turn my steps on and off when I'm in a vehicle to stop it recording but I forgot to turn it back on and only realised before I went to bed. it stopped syncing the next day.
- I tried to sync my watch with Garmin Explore the day before but none of my activities for the past month would sync.
- I decided to turn on weekly health update emails and I received my first email the day I noticed all my data was gone.
