Which Garmin activity type to use for body weight training?

Beside of my running sessions I will to more core stability and strength exercises, which are done with my body weight. It takes 45min and I’m quite exhausted after it.

Up to now I have not tracked it with Garmin, but my feeling say me that I should get some training load and recovery hours from it.

Does it make sense to track this exercises and does it have influence on my suggested running workouts?

Which Garmin activity suite the best for body weight training?

  • I wear my watch 24/7, only taking it off for showering and charging. I track my core workouts under the Strength training activity where I have a core workout configured under "Training." It will impact your body battery somewhat, and therefore your daily suggested workouts, especially if your HR throughout the workout is relatively high. I have noticed that using the OHR on the watch, the HR is abnormally high, so I now wear a chest strap during these workouts, so it doesn't impact my overall body battery as much.

I use the strength app for body weight training such as using my TRX suspension trainer.  It will add the workout to your training load.  When completed, you can go into connect and where you'd normally edit the weight you can listed it as bodyweight.  Another option would be the "Other" activity app.  It's kind of a catch all for any activities that don't have a specific app.  It will also add your workout to your training load.

Wearing chest strap will give accuracy.
