HR Reads High After Workout

I've noticed that my 945 is reading abnormally high each and every time after a workout until I remove the watch and dry my wrist and watch. This seems to occur when cycling, and not using the watch to track the workout (Zwift/TrainerRoad). I finish the workouts around 100-110bpm, then take off my Polar H10. I check my watch, and it shows 140+bpm. Anyone else notice this as well?

  • I use a strap for tracking activities as well, HRM-Dual, and I have never noticed this behavior (although I don't look at it for issues) looking back at my weeks worth of activities/days I see a pretty smooth HR curve on the daily curve down from my workout HR down to 60-70bpm in the minutes/hour after.  No weird spikes up after ending/saving the workout.

  • Without the strap it is useless !

    only for daily living

For all sport activities use the strap also indoor

  • Is it possible your Polar strap is still transmitting?

  • It is my understanding/experience that the watch only will use the optical when not recording a logged activity.

So for monitoring resting/instant HR during the regular day... you have to start an activity if just sitting on couch and wanting to verify/log HR.
