Running Suggestion altough Load Focus is "about the goals"?!

Hello i use my FR945 since 1 year for my daily runs. Yesterday my "suggestion for the day" was 40min easy run (Zone2). I did it and now my Training Load Focus is "about the goals"( aerob and high aerob)! But altough my Training suggestion for today is a 33min easr run (Zone2) again?

Load 7 Days ist 403 (optimal 226-484)

For me this makes no sense!

Any Suggestions?

  • if i see your training load you are less active then i iam in 7 days load.

May be you are not running as fequently per week as me or your training load was not good or in balance.

I follow the daily suggestions for 2 years now by experiment and must say it works.

i run on type of goal always 'pace'and than the max within the green zone during the run not on the Hart rate zone !

Futhermore i run or cycle the daily suggestion for the training variation.

my Load 7 days at he moment at low level now 538  normaly around 1000.

  • Hi thx for answering. I do 3 Runs a week (5-10k) and during Winter 1x 1-2h Bikeride. For daily suggestion i use heart rate zone, because the pace is way to high for me. For example my max HR is 194 for easy runs i should be around 145 bpm, if i set pace goal it´s 6:15min/km what is way to fast for me! I cant run 5km in 25min how could my easy run set a pace of 6:15min?

  • Being that you are on the high side of your Load range and maybe not recovered in the "XX hours until recovered" it likely skipped doing a harder workout in favor of a easy / recovery run.  As you continue to have a high load, it should raise that optimal level as you trend up.  If you keep your easy days even easier...  at least once a week should feel almost stupid easy, 'jog' .  Will not pile more "load" on , but will still help aerobically and for recovery.

Take a look at your recovery hours left on your watch, that is often a good indicator of types of workout that will recommended as well.

Yes HR is a good way to manage zones for running because it takes away any error in your vo2max value which will set your pace zones i think.

  • OK so you mean I should train more or harder to get more load range?

  • Both will help, but at your current training pattern really try to polarize your training, some of your easy days... have super easy (usually day after a hard workout or long run).... but then really focus on getting in good hard day also.

Less runs that are 'kind of easy' or 'medium effort' - which will help keep legs fresher for hard workout days (2x per week maybe)
