Altitude calibration problem on 8.40

I hade ZERO problems with altitude with day to day runs and rides. I live at 42 meters above sea level. Usualy i calibrate once - twice a month (when i travel).

After latest update 8.40 and changes in altimeter calibration there was not a single day with correct elevation. I excluded damaged unit - after manual calibration before run data is ok. But after night it is going bogus.

Change to nightly mode changes nothing.

Anyone has problem with newest altitute calibraction model?

I would like to have a change to do only manual calibration like in previous firmware.

Yesterday i have changed autocal to on and sensor mode to barometer only. Altitude has been stable over night. I will keep eye on it.

So after i setup Autocal to on, but sensor mode: barometer only, it keeps calibrated properly about 24h till my next run.

Which was calibration disaster:

I had never ever such crap alti chart.

Today i will try autocal off and sensor mode:baro only.

Hi,

Indeed, it seems we have a clear issue on calibration, I wanted to downgrade to see if it was a software problem.

You'll find my last training where the watch decided to to 100m to -4000 meters in seconds.

The strange thing is that GPX is perfectly on the streets, so something is highjacking the GPS information to give wrong information as altitude.

I've seen Fenix 6 has the same issue reported. Hopefully Garmin will get back to us.
