I recently got a FR945. Initial updates were all good. Today I got a map update (TopoActive Africa version 2022.0) which failed ~halfway. Now I just get the error "There was an error installing the update". How do I fix this ?

Space not an issue, device less than a week old and I haven't loaded much to date.
Most of the previous posts were resolved by Garmin Express updates.
There was one were the person moved the downloaded file(s) onto the device (and deleted device files). But this method was not successful for too many people and I would not want to mess around with system files so early into my 945 journey :)
Didn't check that, thanks...but I have 185GB free
Sadly the problem still persists. I logged a ticket with product support and resolution is still pending (~6 weeks later)
Are you living in Africa or bought it there and living somewhere else and installed Topo card of you living country.
Mine have topo america and i installed topo europo on it. the updates of America don't work for me anymore
Purchased and living in South Africa.
It's actually really poor from Garmin. And then their support make you think you going mad because they imply the problem is your side. I'm not sure why they can't one drive the file and you can then copy and paste it in your device folder
