Is anyone else having the following issue with their Forerunner 945 –
Issue description
When using the Forerunner for a "workout" run (for example Garmin's own automatically generated workout runs, or a structured run that you've manually created yourself), and using a "pace" target (rather than a "Heart Rate" target), the pace field on the training screen freezes.
Further details
- I have attached a photo of the screen & pace field I am referring to (Note that it doesn't display a pace in the photo because I'm not moving...)
- During a run, both the numerical pace field and the green-red dial at the top (which indicates whether you're in the correct pace zone) freezes.
- They freeze at random times (usually about 10-20 minutes into a run) and then remain frozen until the activity is stopped.
- Strangely, this issue only occurs on this one screen – if I change to another screen, the pace field is accurate, but the pace field on the training screen remains frozen.
- This issues doesn't occur when using a Heart Rate based target. The Heart Rate field doesn't freeze.
Why does this matter?
When the pace field on the training screen freezes, the watch stops providing alerts when you are running too fast or too slow. This means you can't tell if you're going at the appropriate pace, which means it becomes impossible to train at the specified pace. This bug renders this pace-based training feature useless.
So
Has anyone else experienced this issue, or able to offer any advice? At the moment I am only able to complete structured runs using a Heart Rate target, as the Pace target simply stops working.
