Battery Dies

Device charges and runs out of battery immediately.  Pulse ox off, hard reset, nothing helps

  • Immediately as in seconds/minutes? Or days?

Check for updates in Garmin Express.

Is hard reset the same as factory reset? If a factory reset doesn't do it then contact Garmin Support: https://support.garmin.com/

  • What I meant to say, and apologies as I was on chat with Garmin during the time I started this thread, I swam Thursday morning and when I woke up Friday the watch was dead.  Just thought maybe I forgot to charge it and then did so to 100%.  Saturday morning the watch was dead once more, odd as this never happened before.  I recharged it then while on an indoor bike trainer ride the watch dropped quickly to the point where I had to remove it and charge it again.  After the ride, which was 4 hours, I ran for 30 minutes only to have the watch die once more.  Garmin had me turn off the pulse ox, I do have the latest firmware too.  Had to charge it twice on Sunday, once after an hour run and then again, this morning after swim.  Non exercise its losing 10% per hour.  Garmin is monitoring the watch.  I am 3 weeks out of Ironman Arizona, so not the ideal time to be dealing with this nonsense.  This is my 5th Garmin watch, been with them for 10+ years and have to say the customer support is not the greatest.  Will see what happens this week but thinking it may be time to move away from them.
