Not getting phone call notifications on watch

I suddenly am not getting phone call notifications on my watch. I am still getting all the other notifications like emails and whatsapps. I didn't change any settings on the watch or phone. When I unpair the watch from the phone and re-pair it works for a while but then again no call notifications. Any idea on how to fix this. Not keen on doing factory reset. Thanks

I have had similar issues in the last week or two I have noticed. It won't work for awhile... then it works... not sure what the pattern is.

I have restarted and I believe also hard reset (hold power button until screen goes black), I assume it is a bug in GC App , so a factory reset likely won't help. Have wondered if it is something like power saving mode on phone closing app, but all the power modes appear to be disabled for me on GC on my android
