v8.09 - Bike Commute

Hi,

I started to use "Bike Commute" activity type, but I wonder what is the difference from a normal "Bike" activity...

I understand that I can set the different data fields to display during this type of activity, but maybe it's good idea is set event type as "transport" after saving activity (I expect that it works in this way).

My understanding is that 'bike commute' does not try and update your vo2max and other performance metrics

Can you check how it maps in Garmin Connect?

Garmin connect can differentiate between Roadbiking, Mountainbiking, Graveling... maybe Bike commute is an activity type on it's own and you can filter those out?

There is no bike commute in garmin connect, well not as far as I could tell after using the bike commute profile on the watch yesterday

I checked... and:

Activity type: Cycling

Event Type: Uncategorized

Nope, but you can categorize by event type: transport, training, recreation etc. But this activity type in Garmin watch set this value exactly the same as regular Bike - uncategorized.

5 months have passed and the Bike Commute activity is still useless since it does not differ from other biking activities in Connect... Garmin, hello?
