Headphone compatibility experience - SW 7.80

I have tried a few true wireless headphones recently would like to give an update to help other people that had issues:

  • Jaybird Vista: I have used them for a while and I have consistently experienced dropouts 5-15 minutes into my runs. I have not tried the Vista 2 but I know people are experiencing the same issues
  • JBL Reflect Mini NC: half a second blank every 5-30 seconds. It does not matter how close my hands are from the headphones. The issues happens even without running.
  • Jabra Elite Active 75t: looks like they might work (at least while stationary) but they would not hold in my ears because they do not have "earfins" so I could not try them while running.
  • Bose - Sport Earbuds: they are pretty expensive, have less features than Jabra/JBL ones and are not fully waterproof (IPX4) but they work great while running. No dropouts, no issue reported while walking or running. They do not have an ambient sound technology to keep you aware of your surroundings. But they work.
  • Powerbeats Pro: Have not tried them recently but at some point Garmin broke the ability to raise/lower the volume (not sure if this is fixed) and I have many issues charging them while in the case. Would not recommend.

At this point in time, it looks like the Bose Sport Earbuds is the most reliable option. But reliability over all my tests is so bad that even if Garmin launched a line of true wireless headphones, I doubt they would work.
