Jaybird Vista earphones

I've been having problems with these earphones and Garmin Forerunner 945 for over a year now. They'll essentially often cut out in the middle of a run (sometimes after just a minute or two) and not easily be reconnected without a full reset of both the watch and earphones. I see plenty of other threads discussing similar issues.

Are there any definitive workarounds for this? I see in the Fenix 6 forums some have rolled back the Bluetooth firmware which resolves the issue. Are there any similar workarounds for the 945?

These are such great little earphones and it's such a shame Garmin don't seem to have been able to fix this in over a year :-(

Yes, buy something else than Jaybird.

It's kind of hard to blame just one party in something like that.

  • Best things that have made the Jaybirds start working with 7.80 and 8.02 FW is:

    1) Do a hard reset of the watch by holding the light button until the watch turns off then press again to turn it on.  I only had to do this once when they were misbehaving before going out running again.   But after doing this, subsequent runs all start working as expected.

    2) In the occurrences where the cutouts start when I am running, immediately go into the menu and disable the Wifi and Phone.  After doing this I an usually have a more uninterrupted run where the Jaybirds start working more as expected, without disconnecting.

I have had some friends have issues with other headphones than the Jaybirds, so I don't think it was exclusive to them, but they do seem to be more problematic.

People are having great success using other headphones other than Jaybirds.  Jaybirds have been problematic and for some illogical reason people blame Garmin and not Jaybirds for the issue when other makes work fine.  Just responded yesterday to someone who thought they could bring legal action against Garmin because their Jaybirds didn't work.  Lol!  There's a common denominator here with earphones not working with Garmin and the answer is Jaybirds.  I use Bose Soundsport Free's for years and no issues whatsoever.
