Following a recorded pool swim, the watch ceases to count floors until it resets at midnight

Since the latest software update, if I record a pool swim, I have no floor count afterwards. Following the midnight reset, it works fine the next day if there is no pool swim. Any thoughts?

  • Report the bug via the form with the beta would be my thought.

  • Perhaps the hole in the barometric altimeter is dirty and when it gets wet it does not detect the pressure change.

Garmin has turned off the temperature/barometer sensor for pool swimming.  A Garmin rep has stated it was due to excessive corrosion with chlorine.  Anyway, you need the barometer to count floors and for some reason the temperature/barometer sensor is not turning back on after completing a pool swim activity until the following day.  It's a bug and should be reported.

  • Check out Beta 8.02 notes:

    • Fix an issue that could temporarily prevent temperature and altitude readings after a pool swim activity.

I would suspect this state would impact floor counts.
