forerunner 945 doesn't charge - bought second cable, still same issue

Is the watch faulty? I have tried all help site items and watch is failing to charge and sync content appropriately.

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the watch?

I had the same problem and it wasn't the cleaning of the contacts that solved it but I had to power the watch down in order for it to charge again.
