Zwift rides and load

I've seen a few posts about Zwift rides now counting towards Load and VO2, but for some reason my rides don't show up. I've got a 945 with the latest firmware. Zwift is fully updated as well. I've even unpaired, and repaired the apps to see if that would work. Any suggestions?

  • I’ve been running Zwift directly from my iphone for the past few weeks (because of an issue with the companion app and erg mode). I have a short ride scheduled for tomorrow morning, so I’ll do some testing to confirm that I’m not crazy and report back.  I don’t think I did anything special to connect Zwift to Garmin Connect — I’m pretty sure I just clicked on something within Zwift

  • Quick question - Danberr73, when you look at the Exercise Load bar chart and information under the chart, do you see the ride and a corresponding load figure) on the chart and/or in the activity information under the chart)?

  • Nope, it never shows the load for my Zwift rides. Not on the watch, or the GC App. Did two rides last night...both are sync'd to my GC App, just nothing in the Load chart and the Load focus numbers didn't change.

  • I used Zwift via Apple TV this morning, and the Garmin Connect app definitely showed and added the load. (I also tried to test via the Zwift connect app, but Zwift didn’t save my ride, for some reason — I may have exited too quickly.)

You say you have the latest Garmin firmware, so I don’t know what to tell you, other than that  I sympathize and you might try emailing Garmin support.  For some reason, my watch doesn’t produce the new(ish) perfect tracks in “track run” mode. The Garmin folks were very responsive in asking me to send files etc. so they could try to understand the problem. Or you might try a hard reset, but you’ll lose various fitness data in the process.  Good luck.

  • Thanks....i'll try and reach out to Garmin and see what they say. I'm sure it's a simple setting somewhere. I'll post the answer here for future reference too.

    Hello.

Following DCRainmaker article I tried yesterday a Zwift ride without connecting my Fenix or edge.

After the workout, I waited for the synchronization with my Fenix 6.

On GC I don’t have a section on “training effect” but looking at the training status I see an “exercise load” bar chart.

It seems it works  … but !!!

    I have a 260 exercise load for a simple 50min z2/z3 workout !!! The number is actually 2x  it should be !

So this is useless, I had to delete the workout…

Once again I’m very disappointed with Garmin…

  • Ist there any latest anderes to that topic?

I have the same issue as described: did two Zwift rides which are shared to strava and Garmin Connect. In gc the ride shows upit doesnt sum up in training status and intensity minutes. The activity itself hast a value for Training load but no for training effect. My watch doesnt show the rides as well.

Is the only solution to track the ride with both the zwift program and the watch itself? Would bei very annoying..

  • Strange. I’m just relying on my connection from Zwift to Garmin—no separate recording on my watch— but when I look at the “intensity minutes” section on the Garmin app on my phone, I see this morning’s Zwift ride and the number of intensity minutes (separately for moderate, vigorous, and total).  As I’m sure you know, sometimes there can be some delay before all the data are updated on Garmin, even after the basic activity data appear—but I assume you’ve gone back to check older rides.
