I have a 945, using the resting heart rate method to set my zones but they seem to change almost every day. Does any one know why? Also, does any one know how they calculate the heart rate zones under this method?

using resting heart rate method? This is not one of the options (nor could it work...), you referring to the Heart Rate Reserve Method (uses max and resting HR)?
I believe if you set a resting heart rate into the box it might stick and you can adjust it as you see fit. Similar to when you input your maximum HR.
Edit: Noticed when I change mine from Maximum HR method to Reserve method... it autofilled my resting with 46... resting HR for me is around 46 usually, however it is NOT todays resting HR or yesterdays... is not my 7day, lastmonth or this month average... so not sure where that came from. You are seeing that number move up and down regularly in your device settings / user settings ???
You are correct, it's the Heart Rate Reserve method and I put in my resting heart rate, which still appears with no change, yet again today my zones were different.
Weird.
Could it be the maximum HR that is changing? Have you been doing some hard workouts that maybe updated the autoset maximum? Have you set it manually based on doing max HR interval test on your own or maybe a super hard sprint finish at the end of a 3k-5k race?
My volume has increased considerably the last 2 months, but most of my runs are easy runs with one hill, interval or tempo run a week. I'll have to check my max HR but I'm pretty sure I manually set it after an interval test
Sorry for any confusion, but I am setting them in Garmin Connect.
No problems - thought I would mention it just in case.
