Strength Tracking

Yesterday my watch tracked a chest workout when I worked shoulders. Today it tracked a back workout when I worked chest. How is this?

  • It “guesses” based on body movement. Really, how much different is the general movement of a bent over row compared to a bench press for a wrist based watch? Or a shoulder press compared to an incline bench press? The watch surely can’t tell the difference in many cases. Now, if it confuses a bench press with a squat, that would be crazy.

    I have a gym app to track what I’ve really done, and I seldom even pay attention to what the watch thinks I’ve done during a workout after three years working out with it on.

  • The watch will try to match your movement pattern to an exercise but it can go wrong if you move in a way that matches another exercise.

    On which arm are you wearing the watch and have you set that same arm in your settings on the watch?

    Settings->User Profile->Wrist

  • Just change the sets in Connect and be done.
