Software version 7.80 not showing up for my Forerunner 945

Clearly you're not in the 50% then. Wait!

Look again.  It says 50% rollout. 

Nothing.  What's wrong with you?

I personally think it's stupid Garmin does this, but, their QA on software releases has always been suspect.  So "it is what it is".  

I thought that meant 50% of devices installed the update, and the other 50% haven't installed yet for whatever reason,

not that only 50% were allowed to update and the other 50% just have to wait for permission.  Thanks.

It is the common way to release software. You don't want everyone to get a faulty release for some issue that you haven't tested for. It is impossible to test everything that can occur in the real world.

What you do is that you rollout to a small amount of users first. Maybe 10-25%. Then you wait and see if you get any error reports for major issues. Then you rollout to more users. Check for errors. And so on.
