Activity won’t start immediately

I set the activity auto pause to when stopped but The activity does not immediately start when moving.

this resulted to loosing 15km in my bike diatance activity Sob

  • Auto pause is one of those functions that looks good in theory but doesn't work well in practice especially when used to pause an activity for an extended period of time - like having a coffee or other such break. It seems to work reasonably well when the GPS signal can be held such as stopping at traffic lights and other short breaks in the open, but when the signal is lost such as when going indoors or under trees or surrounded by tall buildings, it can take some time for the watch to reacquire satellites due to the movement. Hence possibly why the distance was lost.

In practice the best thing to do is to have auto pause disabled/inactive. Press stop to pause the activity for a short break; or stop, then Resume Later if a longer break is planned.

  • Ok but the the activity map shows complete route.

also changing the activity setting while uaing it will it reset the counters?

  • A line will be drawn between all known positions. No gaps are shown for time when the watch is stopped.

Turn auto paus off and do it manually instead.

  • I have a speed sensor, so not just GPS, and mine restarts immediately on moving. (I am the one cyclist in London that stops at red lights).

  • As philip mentioned, it's more than likely going to be limitations to using GPS and auto pause. If you would like to use the function then the following article discusses how to overcome some of the limitations. What Can Cause GPS Accuracy Issues on My Fitness Device? The more accurate your GPS is operating the more accurate auto pause is going to function. For the most precise option button presses are probably the best way to go; if you want to try using a speed sensor as pgabavy mentioned that would probably increase performance as well.
