Forerunner 945 rebooted mid activity when music track ended

Thought I'd ask this on here, as it's the first real issue I've had with the watch in the last 2 years.

945 running latest 7.20 firmware.

Started my run as normal, playing a 30 minute track (it's a single DJ mix that's 30 minutes long in a single track), via Bluetooth via my Aftershockz Aeropex. I've had these tracks stored on the watch for over a year now, and regularly listen to them with no previous issues.

As soon as the track ended (27 minutes into the run), the watch rebooted.

I was able to restart the activity where it left off, but at this point, it also lost the ConnectIQ field for my Stryd footpod, so power stopped being recorded, and it was replaced with a standard Time field.

The run by the time I'd stopped it should have also been 10KM, but it appears the file lost 350m during the restart.

I stopped the watch short during the run, did a full reboot again, and was able to get the ConnectIQ field for power back and start again.

  • I had a similar issue after listening to one of my DJ mixes.

The file was 90mins of music but I had put the original wav file on my watch.

There are other long mixes on my watch but they are all mp3 format.

I was getting the reset issue only after listening to the wav file. All other mixes played fine when doing an activity.

I decided to remove the wav version of my mix and convert it to mp3.

This resolved the issue and I no longer get any resets when listening to my mixes.

Don't know if this will solve your issue but thought it may give you something to check/try.
