Reduced battery life

Just putting this out for opinions and comments. I've had the 945 for about 18 months. No issues and up to 9-10 days between charges if no activities. Understandably less if recording activities.

No mods or additions running as out of the box. Sleep tracking has always been on and the original clock face.

Lately I've notice a reduction in days between charges and currently down to 65% after 2 days with no activities recorded. Tried turning off and on and also after any updates.

I see other posts about excessive battery usage but their over 12 months old and different software.

Any suggestions on things to try to fix this issue?

  • Next up: testing with only PulseOx off and only phone connection off

That resulted in a 6% battery consumption. PulseOx does require extra power, but way less than leaving Bluetooth on overnight (20-30% drain). I'll be sure to disable the phone connection in the evenings from now on! This is a relief, I thought the battery was failing.

  • I'm happy with the huge battery savings by turning off Bluetooth during the evening and night, but am really looking forward to a new version in which this is fixed!

  • Actually Bluetooth battery consumption depends a lot on smartphone the watch is connected to. Check with another handset if you have a chance.

  • My phone is never in reach of the watch during the night. Maybe that is the problem.

  • No, my watch and phone are within 4 feet of each other at night, and the battery life is still horrific

  • Don't know if you need to receive alerts on the watch during the night, but you could try with Bluetooth off for one night and see if it works for you as well. I'm leaving the phone connection off as much as possible also during the day and that really helps, which is strange, as I have data upload set to off, so there should not be that much data going from and to the watch. BTW I don't like Bluetooth/Android troubleshooting so I haven't even looked at the phone logs, so I'm just guessing here.
