Forerunner 945 keeps trying to pair with other BLE sensors. How do you stop it asking for additional sensors?

I have several 945s paired to Polar Veirties in same general area.  Several of the watches keep asking to pair to other BLE sensors in the immediate area.  Is it possible to shut off BLE requests to pair inside of the watch?  I cannot isolate the devices from which these requests are coming from.  Could be phones, tablets, other wearable sin the immediate area.  Thanks

  • Is it discovery of BLE sensors? i.e. prompts to add sensors? Or are phones/tablets trying to pair with the watch?

If it is the first: as far as I know you can't disable the discovery of BLE sensors on the watch. But to get rid of the 'add sensor' prompts for BLE sensors you don't use (or ANT+/BLE sensors of which you only use the ANT+ mode): add them once, and then switch them off in the sensor settings on the watch.

But if you're in a gym and many people come in with different BLE sensors that they have not paired (probably mostly dual-mode ANT+/BLE sensors of which they only use the ANT+ mode) that is obviously not practical. And as you won't know which sensor belongs to who, you can't ask them to add the BLE-mode variant of their sensor to their own device.

  • as you won't know which sensor belongs to who,

Name yours then it’s easy to see others.

But what we’d really like is for Garmin to stop this happening by only looking for sensors to add when in the Sensors and Accessories area and selected Add New

I'll go to the share-idea-page once more, would be great if many more do that so Garmin gets convinced that it is important.
