Corrupt courses sync from Explore

I’m finding in the last few weeks that if I sync a course from Garmin explore (any method does this but I use selective sync) then the course appears to be corrupt on the device and displays weirdly on the map. Trying to record an activity if you have selected such a course for navigation results in no navigation and the resulting fit file from the activity also corrupts at around 25kb. 

Ive tried deleting all activities, repairing with explore and different GPX course files. Nothing works. Recording an activity without the course is fine and if I manually add the same course file to the device it’s also fine (although explore deletes it on the next sync). 

The only thing changed is recently buying an Inreach mini. I also changed the email I login to explore with although I’ve logged out and in again. 

Any thoughts? It’s fairly urgent that I fix this
