Open water poor GPS tracking quality

I just tried my new FR 945 on the open water swimming activity (during the triathlon). I'm very disappointed about the poor quality of this GPS activity tracking. I was expecting the smooth path and got something like 'saw-tooth" path. Previously for few years I was using FR245 and the OW tracking activity was more less the same as this one for 945. Did anyone got the same issue with 945? Maybe some tracking options are wrongly set? I'm using standard set GPS+GLONASS.

I agree but to be honest, as long as the distance is correct I'm not too fussed how the track looks.

Kind of, but feels like "how hard" would it be to fix that. Apparently either hard or that Garmin just isn't interested.

I too have this issue, I did a Triathlon this morning, and tracking was very good, almost perfectly straight lines (in triathlon mode). Then after the triathlon, I did an OWS and the track was horrible, that being said it has nothing to do with which mode you are in. For both swims, my 945 was on my right wrist.

Yep. This just recently started happening to me with the 945. When I first got the watch, it was perfect, now I am seeing swims similar to above. Starting to think it's an update issue....
