HRM Run and Forerunner 945

I replaced the battery on my HRM Run and it seems to connect without a problem. During a run, I have noticed (infrequently) that the "HRM connected" message appears. That would indicate to me it may not have been working before but I'm not sure. Without stopping and looking at the watch lights is there any way to be sure the HRM is working while looking at the watch without stopping the run?

Enter the sensors menu and check if it is connected.

Thanks for the info. It had not occurred to me you could do this during the exercise. Tried it this morning during a run and it worked fine. I was actually hoping for something you could quickly glance at but this worked. It is a lot of clicking to do during a run but it works and I appreciate your help. After a few days, that should be enough to restore mymconfidence.
