Water taken...

I saw that in data of my run I have a part about water. There is write how much water I lost and water that I had drink: how I can sign it in activity? And how I can have water lost in activity during my activity (not only when I finish it and I have download my data record...)? How Garmin calculate water that I lost (and that I see that is more similar my calculate)?

  • As far as I know it is only handled after the activity is saved.  You can log consumed water and calories on the website or App through the edit feature.  You can also see what the estimated sweat loss is based on likely weight, height, temperature, heart rate vs heart rate maximum, duration.

Watch doesn't appear to have a sweat loss field - could possibly get a ConnectIQ field that would have it.

Would be nice to have a Screen within a workout that allowed you to log water vs sweat loss....or food consumed vs estimated burned glycogen [blood/muscle stored sugars] (and estimated burned total fat+glycogen calories).  Although when I am running... I generally am out for a run not doing stuff like that.  Plan the fuel and hydration... go run...  maybe log it after wards if ambitious.

  • Yeah, but having that opportunity would still make sense as only adding those afterwards, who remembers and makes the feature feel like incomplete.

I think it could also be combined with hydration alerts, like "remember to drink" and you would have the drink size on that alert and toggle to log it as consumed, then it would just automatically add those.

Or course when I hydrate during activities it's usually with hydration pack and I have no idea how much I'm drinking, or then races where you drink then there's drink available and that doesn't go with your hydration schedule.
